Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

As I mentioned before, we had a house full of company last week.  On Saturday, Mom, Roger, Patrick, and Stephanie flew into DC.  It was Patrick and Stephanie's first time to DC, so they all spent 2 1/2 days doing all the site-seeing they could squeeze in.  I didn't subject Patrick and Stephanie to my crazy picture taking, so I didn't get any photos of them.

On Tuesday morning, we dropped Patrick and Stephanie off at the airport and Mom, Roger, Ian, Jude, and I drove out to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.  We stayed two nights and enjoyed every minute!  Ian, Jude, and I hope to go back next summer.

Rehoboth Beach has great sand, is very clean, and even has lifeguards and public restrooms.  To top off the beautiful beach, there is also an awesome boardwalk, complete with shops, food stands, and restaurants.  All of the conveniences right next to the beach made for a more laid-back experience (or at least as laid back as a trip to the beach with a toddler can be!).

Jude's first time at the beach!

He wasn't quite sure what to think of the sand and the water.

If it was this busy in early June when it was only 70 degrees, I can't imagine how busy it gets in July!

Ian was the only one brave enough to get in the 66 degree water.

Jude's favorite part was wandering around the boardwalk.

"You can't catch me, Nana!"

A boardwalk-style dinner, with Jude doing laps around the bench.

Thrasher's fries:  the best french fries I have ever had!

Which one of you seagulls pooped on my head?

My beach pack mule.  Good thing we brought the big stroller!

Helping Daddy eat his ice cream cone.

A cute after-dinner picture.

We attempted some beach portraits, but Jude wasn't the most cooperative.

Think they're on a bench?

It's a lifeguard stand!

We enjoyed watching dolphins swim by.

Still waiting on someone to admit to pooping on my head...

Jude buried his legs with sand.

"Hey, how did all of this sand get here?"

Lesson learned:  Rehoboth Beach is great!
